Graffiti
can be removed and the following the tips will help:
1.
Ensure that the chemicals are worked into all the crevices
of the pebble dashing using a paint brush using a stippling
action. This part should not be rushed and a generous
amount of chemical should be used - I would recommend
a gel to limit the amount of splash back and gloves,
overalls and a full face visor should be used. See chemicals
2.
Use a hot water pressure washer to remove the graffiti
and chemical. However, the pressure must be turned down
to a minimum - this is best acheived by using a gun
with a variable pressure control on the gun lance. The
low water flow will also help to keep the temperature
high, especially if you have a smaller hot pressure
washer.
3.
It is important to direct the lance from a number of
different directions - form the left, right, above and
below - to ensure that the graffiti is removed from
all the crevices.
4.
Then apply a ghosting agent - see Ghosting
Remover This is a liquid and again this should
be worked GENTLY into the crevices with a brush - Ghosting
chemicals are hazardous and care has to be taken, especially
since it is a liquid and not a gel. Gloves, overalls
and a full face visor should be used.
5.
Wash down again with hot water in the same manner as
2 and 3 above. 6. Depending on the results the process
may need to be repeated. Note: On poor quality pebble
dashing the small pebbles are loose and fall out just
by brushing up against them and removing graffiti will
result in more of the pebbles coming out. The owner
of the wall should then be advised before continuing.
Sound pebble dashing should not be a problem.
Removing
graffiti from pebble dashing takes considerably longer
to remove than from a plain brick wall.
I
hope that this helps.
