Cost control

Fixed price
Provision of a specialist teams for a fixed price and term. Say five days a week from 8 am to 5 pm for a period of two years.

Meterage
Provision of specialist teams on a meterage basis. Payment is made only for the graffiti and fly posters removed and at an agreed rate.

Day-rate
Provision of specialist teams on a day-rate basis. Used where there is less demand. The affected areas may be fewer with larger distances between jobs. This could be a day a week, a day a month or called on as and when needed.

Quotation
Provision of service on a quotation basis. Suitable for large one-off projects for areas of extensive graffiti and fly posters. A site visit can be made and a fixed quotation given for removal and possible coatings if requested. Quotations for smaller areas can be given if a photograph can be provided - it is not cost effective to pre-visit site for smaller instances.

Cost control
Prices will be given for the supply of a trained team, vehicles, equipment and materials and all the office support needed to provide a complete service. Teams would be able to respond to particular requests, undertake regular sweeps of priority areas and undertake proactive removal. Additional training could be provided to allow the team to perform particular tasks such as how to advise residents of protection and prevention methods, applying specialist coatings and working with probation teams. Customers would be supplied with work sheets, before and after photographs, vehicle datatrak monitoring records and performance reports.

Research & Development

There are a myriad of chemicals and equipment now available to us. Proud Industrial is not linked to any one product and is able to choose the system that best gets the job done. We evaluate and develop techniques to ensure the clean removal from all surfaces.

We undertake controlled testing of anti graffiti and anti fly poster coatings to assess their performance in the field prior to their recommendation to customers. Investment in these coatings can be very high - Proud Industrial can provide a real cost/benefit analysis and provide an independent opinion on the choices available.

The Environment

Awareness and appreciation of the of the environment has had an enormous impact on our business. The general public has put pressure on government and local authorities; local authorities has put pressure on their contractors; and we as contractors have put pressure on our suppliers.

As a result there has been a surge in chemical development and the number of more environmentally friendly possibilities has increased. Proud Industrial has undertaken many trials of these new chemicals and has selected a combination that both meets the environmental objectives yet still performs well in the field.

All aspects of our work has been examined and measures taken to alter our working practices. Examples are: minimising water usage; vehicle route planning software employed to minimise fuel use; reuse of paint by mixing to make a usable brown for temporary hoardings

We are continually reassessing what we do to try to reduce our environmental impact further. We are also formalising our efforts and are in the process of working towards ISO14001 Environmental Management System accreditation.

TUPE

Proud Industrial supports the principles of TUPE and believes that staff need security in order to perform well and to enjoy their work. Proud Industrial promises to enter relationships with Local Authorities and to honour its TUPE obligations and will work with the recognised Unions to ensure the smooth and painless transfer of staff.

Transferred staff will require induction training to familiarize themselves with new chemicals and machinery and to introduce them to the Proud Industrial way of doing things.

Smaller councils can benefit greatly from a working relationship with Proud Industrial. They can enjoy a small dedicated team working on their contract , supported by additional expertise from within the company for tasks such high-level graffiti removal or specialised coatings. There is also a pool of experienced teams to call on at times of higher demand and special projects. All customers can benefit from the expertise gathered over many years and from working with many councils, and gain benefits usually only possible with much larger organisations.

Training and Staff Development

The success of Proud Industrial lies with its staff. The efforts of the directors would result in little if it were not for the matched efforts and energy of their staff, both office based and from the specialist teams in the field. Investment in training and staff development has been, and continues to be the most important investment the company makes.

Training goes far beyond that of the actual removal process itself. A high level of responsibility is passed to teams who are best placed to understand and make decisions on what is needed to get the job done to the customers instructions, to the right quality standards and safely. We support staff by providing the training and tools they need to do the job well and we work through any problems they encounter together.

All our staff understand that we are on the front line when dealing with the general public, and we understand that we represent our customers when having this direct contact with the public. Our staff take the time to liaise and inform residents of the work being undertaken and treat everyone with respect. One of our most prized and appreciated achievements we have received was in 2004 with the Better Haringey Award for Best Contractor team as voted by residents and other groups. An award we could never achieve without the commitment of our front line staff.

Health and Safety

Our policy is to provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions, equipment and systems of work for all our employees, and to provide such information, training and supervision as they need for this purpose. We also accept our responsibility for other people who may be affected by our activities.

All employees of the company are fully trained to do the work required of them in accordance with COSHH regulations by making them aware of the potential hazards that exist, the procedures to follow to reduce the risk of accidents and the procedures to follow in the event of an accident.

Proud Industrial is aware of its responsibilities with regard to the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 1994 (CDM) either as the principle contractor or reporting to the principle contractor.
