Anti-Graffiti Coating
Sacrificial System

This coating offers invisible protection against graffiti and also allows the surface to breathe. It is a permeable, crystalline micro wax coating that once applied, offers protection for up to ten years. Graffiti is removed by using pressurised hot water at 90ºC which melts the wax taking the graffiti with it. When the surface is dry the coating is then reapplied to the cleaned area.

Coverage rates
and coating areas

The coverage rate is 5m² per litre which allows for the two coats. The coverage rate will reduce for very porous surfaces, such as sandstone, and an allowance of upto 30% should be made.

When coating a wall it is usual to coat from ground level up to a height of 2.5mtrs - this is the maximum height that most graffiti vandals can reach. You may choose to coat to a higher level particularly if there are adjacent surfaces onto which the vandals can climb.

Important
Do not apply the coating if the temperature has fallen or is going to fall below 5ºC for a 24 hour period following application.
Clean and coat a small test area to confirm suitability - particularly on polished or gloss surfaces.

Application Instructions

  1. Clean the surface to be coated to remove surface dirt and grime. Allow the surface to dry.
  2. Put on the safety glasses and gloves provided with the kit.
  3. Stir the coating.
  4. Spray onto the surface using the spray applicator provided. Ensure that the surface is saturated - this will be the point at which the coating liquid starts to run down the wall. Do not over apply.
  5. Allow the coating to dry - this may take up to 4 hours.
  6. Stir the coating again and apply the second coat. This will require less coating liquid than the first.
  7. Empty any remaining coating liquid back into the original container for later reuse.
  8. Clean the applicator with clean water. Wash the interior, re-pressurise and spray the water through the nozzle for one minute to clean. Empty, dry and then store the container for reuse
